Meet Verne! This 13 yr old Dachshund is ready to find his furever home!
I arrived at Mostly Mutts by way of Animal Control, and I’m currently in a foster home with other dogs who I enjoy playing with. We have had some issues with food dominance, but it isn’t my fault, my house mate alpha dog is just a little protective of his food and our foster’s attention. I like older children, but need a calmer home environment.
I’m a little shy until I figure out the household routine, but my foster mom says I’m a sweet little man.
I learned using the ramp to go up and down stairs quickly. I’m learning good leash behavior. I have also adjusted to my crate well, for resting and sleeping. I am working on my potty habits and still have accidents, but they are helping me learn. I am also learning to use a doggie door.
I do have some Medical issues, such as a grade 5/6 heart murmur which will require medication for the rest of my life. I also have a flea allergy, so I will need to stay on a flea preventative to make sure I don’t have skin problems.
